Activity 2: Image Flash

What & Why - “Image Flash” is the activity which is done to give larger scope for the students to read the Abacus slider images representing values using which the students could have extended practice and also better assessment of their skills in reading the values of images at a speed, enhance their Visio-spatial memory skills, necessary to perform better in doing faster and accurate mental arithmetic skills by image of Abacus. Speed and accuracy in performing Mental Arithmetic by image of Abacus indirectly reflect their concentration & memory skills.

Image Flash are helpful in creation of sliders visualization in mind through the introduction of Abacus. This visualization is instructed by subconscious mind and gradually forms the Image Memory. Image Flash (sliders) are very effective in improving the Visual Short Term Memory.


Image Flash (Numbers): These images are helpful in improving the reading speed and are also used for visual orals.

Image Flash - Single Digit
 Method of Image Flash practice:
 Observing the value of sliders / Beads

  • To practice Image Flash click on the start button.
  • 20 Numbers of Image Flash would be displayed one by one on the screen
  • As the images are displayed observe the values, as fast as you can and enter the same in the space provided, before the next image is displayed.
  • As the images are displayed, the numbers of the images displayed would be highlighted, if the task of 20 images are not answered, repeat it again.
  • Try to complete this practice with in the count down time is over for each image.
